Courtney McKenna grew up in Horsham, Pennsylvania where her passion for art and design began.
She graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in June of 2006 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration. While attending RISD Courtney was given the opportunity to travel, and continues to draw much of her inspiration from those experiences. She practiced woodworking in Hawaii, lived on a farm in New Zealand, and worked as an illustrator on an archaeological dig in Italy. Aside from her travels, Courtney also draws inspiration from nature and the people in her life. She is fascinated by the typically overlooked details in the subject matter she paints.
Courtney returned to Pennsylvania in the fall of 2006 when she began the process of opening her own studio and gallery. The Courtney McKenna Gallery is now open and exhibits her own work.
